'JC was withdrawn in 1974 and displayed in false Cambrian c/s at Cardiff-Rhoose until the museum there was closed. Broken up but fuselage saved and at Enstone in BEA colours for a time. Alongside is G-APEX and behind DC-3 N655GP, now in the Science Museum at Wroughton as EI-AYO

The former G-AOHV was notable as one of the only potentially flyable Viscounts left in the world. Exported as 3D-PFI in 8.99 and has since been registered 5V-TTP, TU-VAB and 9Q-COD. Stored at Lubumbashi, DRC having been used by the Congo military and last airborne on a check flight in 2007

Just a month after acquisition from BA, this Viscount was contracted out to Oasis Oil (note Libyan flag on rear fuselage). The basic scheme is the very early version used by BAF complete with the yellow cockpit coaming which didn't last long at all. Last used in the UK as G-OPFI by Parcelforce, she was exported to Africa in 8.99 as 3D-PFI, changing hands under the marks 5V-TTP, TU-VAB, back to 3D-PFI and ending up as 9Q-COD in 7.07. Stored at Lubumbashi, Congo, in potentially flyable condition but sadly scrapped 2011

Allocated G-AOHE but ntu; built at Weybridge, first flew 1.57 and delivered to BEA same month. Flew in BEA Scottish livery from 1971 and wfu by British Airways 3.80 at Cardiff, having performed their last Viscount service into there. Purchased by BAF for spares and b/u 2.81 with 43,110 hrs and 41,011 landings recorded

Screaming Darts were very much a feature of Jersey till the 1990s. Here, Hotel Mike shows off BAF's third livery applied to the Viscount fleet, complete with the revised titling. After being operated in the red Parcelforce colours, the aircraft became 3D-OHM in 8.99 but aborted t/o and veered off the runway at N'djamena, Chad on 24.7.01. Despite being written off, attempts were made to restore her for flight - until a soldier sleeping under the wing accidentally fired his gun and punctured a fuel tank

Leased by Virgin for the summer of 1985 for its Maastricht link, this Viscount dated back to 1957 when bought by BEA and lasted until 3.91 with BAF when it was broken up at Southend after storage
