This plane, Strana Sovyetov (Country of the Soviets) flew all the way east from Moscow to New York in 1929. Another ANT-4, supposedly also registered URSS-300, had crashed in Siberia but with this replacement aircraft the crew made it to New York. Floats were fitted part of the way. On the upper nose it reads Osoaviakhim, the predecessor of DOSAAF. The ANT-4 was essentially a bomber, designated TB-1 by the Soviet air force. Clyde Pangborn and Hugh Herndon aborted a fast flight around the world and instead managed to make the first non-stop flight across the Pacific, from Japan. Arriving over the American coast, they even decided to continue to Boise, Idaho, but the weather would not cooperate and they belly-landed at Fancher Field, Washington state, having jettisoned Miss Veedol's landing gear after take-off. Veedol is a motor oil brand. The CH-400 Special Model J seems to be the same model as the Bellanca J-300. Photo from: The Oregon Journal / Oregon Historical Society

It also had time with German Cargo (D-ADUI) , Lufthansa Cargo and Emery before being intergrated into the ATI fleet in December 2002. In May 2014 it joined Stabo Air as TT-DBC and in February 2016 CFS Air Cargo as TT-DFJ. The plane is reported as having been stored at Doha (DOH) since 2017.
