Originally US Navy 144674 1958- 66, this Otter was among six that operated in the Antarctic for Operation Deep Freeze. It was transferred to the Army National Guard with hybrid serial 0-4674 before service with the Civil Air Patrol as N5348G in 1977. Bought by Sioux Narrows Airways in 1978, it became C-GGSL. Converted with the Polish PZL-1000 engine in 1990, it was acquired by Pipestone Air in 2005 supporting Pipestone Fly-In Outposts. This striking Walleye mural scheme was airbrushed over the winter of 2018 / 19.

I first snapped this DC-3 when it was CF-ICU with Spartan Air Services. That was at Gatwick/UK on 04Aug63. Here it is with Continental Aviation of Oklahoma and still doing survey work. Note the 'bomb' under the fuselage and roof antennas for dual ADF used for cross-checking position in the pre-GPS era. Last known stored for spares use with the Vintage Flying Museum at Meacham Field, Fort Worth, TX since 2010.

After thirty-seven years of service, STARS - Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service retired the last of their BK-117s in December 2022. The planned replacement began in April 2019 as new Airbus H145 helicopters began entering service. C-FLCI was first registered on January 14, 2019.

Registered to Allied Wings on November 16, 2005 for training RCAF pilots at Canada Wings Aviation Training Centre (CWATC) at Southport, MB. One of seven King Airs for Phase III - advanced flying multi - engine training. In 2013, the King Airs received nose art from WWII RCAF bombers, with this one commemorating Avro Lancaster (DS708 ) "Queen of Spades". A Convair 440 built for Varig, but not taken up but was instead delivered to Venezuela for Avensa in 1956. Converted to a 580 in 1969, the aircraft sold to Plymouth Leasing in 1979. Leased as N589PL to Air New England, Sierra Pacific Airlines and Prinair over the next ten years, it was bought by Kelowna Flightcraft with the re-used registration C-GKFP in 1990. Pictured flying seasonally for Wollaston Lake Lodge, the aircraft was sold to Nolinor Aviation in 2005. On August 3, 2011 the nose gear collapsed landing at Kasba Lake Airport, NT , damaging the aircraft beyond repair.

A flyby in wheeled configuration was carried out at the 2009 Red Lake Norseman Festival. Unfortunately, its flight had to be terminated at Red Lake Airport, Ontario. Effectively entered open storage there, where it still sat, for sale, as late as 2021.

Written off in 2009 when flying for Ultra Helicopters, as a result of an in-flight engine fire while carrying out water bucket operations on a forest wildfire near Easterville, Manitoba. The pilot made an emergency landing at the ground staging area at Easterville, where the two occupants evacuated safely but the helicopter was completely burnt out.

Delivered to the Union of Burma Air Force in 1960 as UB-656 with a standard Pratt & Whitney piston power plant. Entered civilian life in 2000. Rebuilt and re-engined with a Polish PZL 1,000hp engine in 2002. Subsequently further converted to a Walter Turbine Otter .

An early Twin Otter that was first delivered to Midwest Aviation on January 31, 1967. After the airline merged with Transair, the aircraft was sold to Calm Air in November 1973. Sold to and leased back from Bannock Aerospace in April 1974, it was returned to the lessor in March 1981. The aircraft was destroyed in a hangar fire at Calgary, AB May 14, 1983.
