My logbook shows that I first flew 'Wally' on 20 Dec 1997 when it was just about brand new, and pretty regularly for the next four years. There is little more pleasant in aviation than swanning about on a warm summer's evening in a Drifter!

'Middleton VC' in the dawn light at the Australian International Airshow. This aircraft was noted with the RAAF's Roulettes aerobatic team in 1991, but shortly afterward was allocated to the Forward Air Control Development Unit at RAAF Williamtown. This is the second iteration of the FACDU grey scheme and these aircraft usually get around with tanks on, unlike the trainers. And don't those shark's teeth look good!

This Moth Minor is actually a pre-war civil import. It was allocated the UK rego G-AFNN to the Hull Aero Club in 1939 but appears to have been deregistered the same day. It was registered VH-ACR on 17 Jan '40 until impressed as the last of the RAAF's Moth Minors A21-42 in Nov '41. Returned after the war to VH-ACR '45 until withdrawn in '47. Restored at Caboolture '03-'08. Seen here arriving at the Houdini-Centenary Air Show: note the prominent under-belly speedbrake in lieu of flap.

Exodus: one rolling, one lining up and one at the holding point the day after the Narromine Airshow. Only a few aircraft remain but you can clearly see where, the day before, the parking area was chock-a-block with visiting aircraft. Among the stayers are HARS C-47 VH-EAF and two RAAF PC-9s.

Unfortunately, I could barely fit in this little beauty! It's actually the second Tecnam P92 to carry this registration, and was the distributor's demonstrator.
