Thanks to the Airport Manager, flew with him and the owner from the water at Lake Hood to the runway at Talkeetna for a burger break. Returned to the Lake Hood but could not get ashore at the entry slipway. Had to water-taxi across to the Government Dock and take the road round the Lake back to the hangar. Wonderful experience !!

Operated by Kachemak Bay Flying Service Inc. offering a range of local area scenic flights in this "Fully Restored 1929 Classic". I took a spectacular flight in it, spiralling up towards the top of the steep mountain range which shelters Kachemak Bay. The six passenger seats were wicker chairs. Flew on floats in Alaska in summer and on wheels in California in the winter from a Santa Barbara address.

G-ASAL was Scottish Aviation Limited's company demonstrator aircraft for its successful line of Bulldog military trainers, originally designed by Beagle Aircraft, and was also used for weapons trials. It carries the badges of a number of air forces which had become customers for the Bulldog. Scottish Aviation was one of the aircraft manufacturing companies which merged to form British Aerospace 1977. After many years flying in blue and white colours, the aircraft has just recently been repainted into these original colours by its current owners at Prestwick.
