The 136th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, based at Niagra Falls (NY) and part of the New York ANG, participated in a small exercise at Tyndall AFB (FL). The squadron swapped to F-16ADFs in 1990 and flies as the 136th Air Refueling Squadron the KC-135 since March 1994. Another change came up on 1 July 2008 when the squadron changed again, this time it became the 136th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron, operating the C-130H. This changes did not end... from 2014 onwards the C-130Hs were moved and the MQ-9 Reaper was introduced, officially from March 2017.

After its operational career this Sabreliner moved to AMARC with inventory code 7T0027 in September 1990 (see here). The first of 42 T-39D aircraft arrived at NAS Pensacola (FL) in August 1963. The aircraft were used to train naval flight officers (NFO) in radar navigation and airborne radar-intercept procedures.

The 475th Weapons Evaluation Group flew once with many Super Sabres as target drones. They operated from a flight line named 'Death Row'.

161526 belonged to the first badge of F/A-18As of the US Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron (USNFDS) Blue Angels. Its a F/A-18A-7 of fiscal year 1980 and was factory fresh assigned to the FDS in Sep'87, the month this photo taken. From late '90 up to '95 it was assigned in to the Naval Air Warfare Center-Aircraft Division at NAS Patuxent River (MD) as SD-410. It was withdrawn from service in the fall of '98 and transferred to Fort Leonard Wood (MO) for use with the Chemical School for decontion drills. In '06 it was seen in a very bad shape. One of the last operational TA-4Js of the Blues was pictured at its homebase Pensacola. The BuNo of this aircraft strangely appeared on a preserved TA-4J at the Valiant Air Command Museum, Titusville (FL). That Titusville bird is actually BuNo 152867. The current whereabout of this real 152722 is unknown.

Overturned during a forced landing at Mulberry, Florida, on September 24, 1990. Registration cancelled three years later.

Built as C-47B for USAAF as 43-16376, later converted to C-47D, then SC-47D. Transferred to US Navy as 150188 in 1961 as R4D-6 (C-47J from 1962). Latterly served the NARF Pensacola, transferred to the United States Naval Aviation Museum in 1973.

Stormy sky behind!

Stored at Roswell since December 2016. It has been sold by American, but its subsequent owners haven't yet reactivated the aircraft.

A big storm to the north of Miami but sunshine south of the airport made a very vivid image.
