Registered to Vickers Armstrong as G-ASBM in 7.62, this was the third from last Viscount built and went initially to All Nippon then SAN Ecuador in 1970. First arriving in Colombia in 1975 with TAC (later renamed Aerocesar), she was sold to Intercontinental in 1987. Wfu a couple of months before this shot, the fuselage remains intact at El Dorado in private hands having at one stage served as a police social club. I can remember seeing this machine as N525EJ regularly cruising up Red One in the late Sixties in its distinctive red Executive Jet Aviation c/s. Here on a diversion to Heathrow looking immaculate while taxiing out along the southside, she was flown by BCal for 15 years from 6.70 and converted to EC-137D for the USAF using its c/n as serial (with year of construction 67 as FY prefix), entering service in 1992. The Privateer entered Navy service during the late summer of 1944 with the last of 739 delivered in October 1945. It was developed from the B-24 Liberator as a maritime patrol bomber and had six gun turrets - note the deleted rear fuselage blisters in this view. N3739G was originally the USN's Bu no. 59819 and this identity is now quoted as the aircraft's msn. In close company with G-BAMX (PK-MVW), this was one of eight Vanguards leased or bought by Merpati in the Seventies, four ex-Air Canada and four ex-BEA. Originally CF-TKU to TCA in 11.62, became G-AZNG with Air Holdings in 2.72 and leased to Air Trader (SE-FTI) for the latter half of the year. To PK-MVC 8.73 but officially back to G-AZNG 4.74, then F-BVUY for EAS in 11.74. Bought back by Merpati in 3.81, this time as PK-MVA and stored at JKT from 11.85 (see my 1983 shot), being scrapped by 1994
