In 1982, 9 Sqn became the first RAF frontline unit to operate the Tornado. In 2007, this aircraft was given special markings to celebrate 25 years of Tornado operations by the RAF, including squadron badges of all units that operated the Tornado. ZA469 is now preserved at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford.
