Rolls-Royce Conway-powered CF-CPG was still in service when Canadian Pacific became CP Air.

Having returned from a lease to Cubana this DC-8 is being made ready for a lease to Air Jamaica in May. It would be sub-leased to Aero Peru as OB-R1142 for June and July before returning to Air Jamacia as 6Y-JMF. After returning to Air Canada again March 1979, it would be sold to International Lease Finance in July as N8021V. Operated for a time by Capitol Airlines, it was withdrawn in 1981 and broken up by 1983.

Canadian Pacific flew to Sydney only once a fortnight (two weeks) at the time the photo was taken. DC-8s had not long replaced Britannias on the route, the switch coming with the opening of the new Mangere Airport at Auckland, New Zealand in November 1965.

DC 8s of Alitalia were very infrequent visitors to Heathrow.
