Built in 1967 and imported into Canada in 1977 ex N32JC for Simpson Air (See Photo ID: 198665). Still current with a different operator in 2020. The protective panels rivetted on the right side are made of a white nylon like a cutting board (it might even be puck board that used to line the boards of a hockey rink) and it was put on to stop the rocks that the prop sucks up from damaging the aluminum skin. It would work for ice as-well but that plane never had de-icing edges so it was never used in known icing conditions.

Originally 136747 with the US Navy then allocated N437DF, but not converted. Became C-FFQM instead and converted to Turbo Firecat for Sécurité Civile as F-ZBFE. Crashed at Ardèche, France on 20 August 2005. Here it is on delivery ferry with temporary F-W... marks and parked outside the 1941 built TCA hangar which was now owned by Manitoba Government Air Service.

Registered to Dean River Air Services at Nimpo Lake/BC four days later so this Beech would here be on delivery ferry with crudely spray-canned registration on the side. Note the large upward hinging freight door and the engine insulation blankets which were used, in conjunction with electric heaters, to beat the cold start problem. In November 1998 it went back south as N1939K and still current in 2020.

Pictured here while still equipped with radial engines, this Caribou was later modified with PT-6 turboprops. On 27 August 1992 it crashed and burned at Gimli when the elevator gust lock reengaged itself on take-off. Ironically the flight was just meant to be for fun and to consume as much fuel as possible before the aircraft was weighed.
