Beaver C-FMAW at the bottom of the Vancouver Airport seaplane ramp located next to Harbour Air's passenger terminal and Flying Beaver restaurant on the Fraser River.

MacMillian-Blodel Forest Products was the largest forestry company in British Columbia and operated a pair of Grumman G-21A Goose (C-FIOL, ex-RCAF 397 and C-FHUZ, ex-RCAF 393) for several decades to transport executives and employees between Vancouver Airport and its timber mills on the BC coast, many of which were equipped with seaplane ramps. Goose C-FIOL was one of 23 participants in the Expo 86 Bushplane Flypast on May 5, 1986. In 2021 it was flying with Wilderness Seaplanes based at Port Hardy on the north end of Vancouver Island (which also owns C-FHUZ for parts).

John A. Schwamm flew his Grumman G-44A Widgeon, N32BB, to Vancouver, BC to participate in the Expo 86 Bushplane Flypast of the Expo 86 site in downtown Vancouver on May 5, 1986. Most of the 23 participating aircraft took off from Pitt Meadows airport and the adjacent seaplane base and 11 aircraft landed on the ocean in English Bay to water taxi past the Expo exhibition site. This aircraft stalled and crashed into the sea off Ventura, CA while taking photos of a sailboat race almost a year later on April 12, 1987.

The IAF flew 35 Gloster Meteors of four different versions (T.7, F.8, FR.9 & NF.13). This aircraft was part of the Tel Nof base collection in May 1982. There is an all silver Meteor T7 in the collection of the IAF Museum at Hatzerim AFB painted with the serial number "15" which may be the same aircraft.

Three Grumman TBM Avengers were imported by Israeli operators for agricultural use in the late 1960s or early 1970s and some flew on spraying contracts in Greece. In July 1978 the three aircraft were parked on the northeast side of Herzlia Airport still wearing their US registrations. Pictured are (L to R) N7850C (msn 2094, ex US Navy 69355), N6582D (ex-Royal Canadian Navy 385) and N6829C (msn 4646, ex US Navy 91741) with registrations confirmed from my other photographs. N7850C is now preserved at the IAF Museum at Hatzerim AFB and N6582D was seen in Nov. 2017 being restored at Herzlia Airport. The fate of N6829C is not known.

Tel Nof was home for the Israeli Air Force flight academy until 1966 when it moved to the newly-opened Hatzerim AFB near Beer Sheva. North American T-6, No. 08, was one of two T-6/Harvards in the collection of the Tel Nof base museum in May 1982.

Pat Donovan flew his Stinson SR Junior, NC13477, to Vancouver, BC to participate in the Expo 86 Bushplane Flypast on May 5, 1986. The aircraft spent its early life in the northeast United States and later flew in Alaska on floats. It's now displayed at the Museum of Flight at Boeing Field, Seattle.

Tel Nof AFB was the home for the Israeli Air Force flight academy until 1966 when it moved to the newly-opened Hatzerim AFB near Beer Sheva. This Stearman was part of the Tel Nof AFB base aircraft collection in May 1982. There have been very few recent reports regarding aircraft preserved at the Tel Nof AFB. I suspect that many of the aircraft I photographed 1982 were transferred to the IAF Museum at Hatzerim, other IAF bases or scrapped.

This Noratlas was part of the Tel Nof base collection in May 1982, but later status is unknown. When the IAF Noratlas fleet was retired in the 1970s, about a dozen could be seen parked in a field on the south side of Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) to the west of the original airport terminal in the summer of 1978. These aircraft were scrapped by the summer of 1981.

The Israeli Air Force base at Tel Nof near Rehovot had a number of preserved aircraft on display inside the main gate to the base including this Douglas C-47 wearing the serial number 59. A number of the aircraft at Tel Nof were later moved to the IAF Museum at Hatzerim AFB. The version and actual ID of this C-47 is not known as well as its current status. It does not appear on recent lists of preserved IAF C-47s.

The Israeli Air Force acquired two Sikorsky S-55s in October 1952 from the United States which were flown by 103 Squadron. This aircraft is believed to be IAF Serial No. 02 (msn 55-992) which later joined the collection of the IAF Museum at Hatzerim AFB and received new paint.

The Israeli Air Force flew 17 single-seat Vautour IIAs including aircraft No. 12 which was photographed at the Tel Nof AFB museum in May 1982. This aircraft is now believed to be part of the historic collection of the IAF Technical School located next to Haifa Airport.

The Israeli Air Force flew a number of Sud Aviation SE-3130 and SA318C Alouette II helicopters. Alouette II, No. 12, was displayed at Tel Nof AFB in May 1982. It may now be part of the collection of the IAF Museum at Hatzerim AFB (wearing serial number 19 which is overpainted)

Canadian Armed Forces Boeing-Vertol CH-113A Labrador SAR helicopters operated by 442 Squadron often made mercy flights to Shaughnessy Hospital in Vancouver in the 1970s and landed on the front lawn of the health care facility on Oak Street. A permanent heliport (CAK7) for for use by BC Ambulance helicopters is now located at what is now know as the Vancouver Children & Women's Health Centre. The aircraft wears a blue, white and red colour scheme which was replaced by an overall yellow colour scheme in the 1980s.

This Blackcomb Helicopters Airbus AS350B3 was seen operating sightseeing tours from the Whistler Municipal Heliport in June 2021. Blackcomb also has helicopter bases to the north and south at Pemberton and Squamish Airports respectively.

The Whistler Municipal Heliport (CBE9) is a public facility operated by the Whistler Heliport Society. It is located just off Highway 99 about 10 km north of the town of Whistler by road at an elevation of 2136 feet ASL. It replaced a number of privately owned heliports in the valley about 30 years ago that were generating a lot of noise complaints.

MBB Helicopter Canada Limited was an official corporate sponsor of Expo 86 and provided the 1986 World Exposition on Transportation and Communications in Vancouver, BC with a MBB BK 117A-3, C-GMCL, for VIP use. The helicopter was operated by ALC Airlift Corp. of Pitt Meadows, BC from the Expo 86 heliport on False Creek in downtown Vancouver. After Expo 86, ALC converted the BK117 to an air ambulance for on use on its STARS contract in Alberta.

This Grumman G-21 Turbo Goose aircraft was converted to P&WC PT6A-20 turboprops by McKinnon Enterprises of Sandy, OR for the Government of British Columbia. It was later operated by Airwest (alongside C-FAWH) and Air BC (Pattison Industries) in Vancouver before it was sold to Crown Forest Industries in June 1984. It was one of 23 aircraft that participated in the Expo 86 Bushplane Flypast on May 5, 1986. It's seen water taxing past the Expo 86 Aviation Plaza on False Creek in downtown Vancouver. As Pen Air's N660PA it crashed into the sea off Dutch Harbour, Alaska on August 11, 1996.

The new Vancouver Harbour Heliport was floated into position on October 10, 1986 and anchored to the shore by two footbridges. This photo was taken the day the heliport was installed from Transport Canada's Vancouver Harbour Air Control Tower located on top of the 142 m (466 ft) high Granville Square office building overlooking the Vancouver Coal Harbour Seaplane Base (CXH) and the new heliport (CBC7).
