John A. Schwamm flew his Grumman G-44A Widgeon, N32BB, to Vancouver, BC to participate in the Expo 86 Bushplane Flypast of the Expo 86 site in downtown Vancouver on May 5, 1986. Most of the 23 participating aircraft took off from Pitt Meadows airport and the adjacent seaplane base and 11 aircraft landed on the ocean in English Bay to water taxi past the Expo exhibition site. This aircraft stalled and crashed into the sea off Ventura, CA while taking photos of a sailboat race almost a year later on April 12, 1987. This photo is copyright © Kenneth I.
