This beautiful reproduction is on display at the National Museum of the USAF and is painted as an aircraft of the 95th Aero Squadron, Third Flight, as it appeared in July 1918

This original C-1 is painted in the markings of 1st Lt Quentin Roosevelt (the son of President Theodore Roosevelt), 3rd Flight, 95 Aero Squadron, 1st Pursuit Group who was killed in action near Chambery on 21st July, 1918 aged 21. This plane is now on display in the Personal Courage wing of the Museum of Flight. Ex N6493U.

The 28C-1 was the first fighter aircraft to serve with an American fighter unit under American command and in support of US troops. It was also first type to score an aerial victory with an American unit. This example on display at the NASM Udvar-Hazy Center is actually a composite of parts from five different aircraft. It was formerly civil registered as N4123A but that was cancelled in Jul-2012.

Displayed at the National Museum of Naval Aviation. Twelve Nieuport 28's were acquired by the US Navy in 1919 and this replica wears the serial of the third example.

Wearing early American markings of the 95th Pursuit Squadron. Rejected by the French Army, the Nie 28 was available to the fledgling USAAS. This display flight was to end in a mishap - see other photo.

This is a composite of several Nie 28 fighters. It is painted as the aircraft of Lt James Meissner of the 94th Aero Squadron 'Hat-in-Ring', based near Toul, France in May 1918, but serial 6144 is not applied. This aircraft was formerly registered as N4123A but that was cancelled in Jul-2012.

The Nie 28 is brought back to the airfield after a mishap. Suffering engine trouble, it landed in the field in the background and went on its back. Fortunately the pilot was unhurt.
