Added to the BDAC in late 2021, this is the former XS230 that served the ETPS at Boscombe Down, and then flew in basic 'raspberry ripple' colours, initially as G-BVWF but soon changed to G-VIVM. It began life as a T.4 but was later converted as the T.5 prototype.

Over the last couple of years this DC-3 has been repainted in French Air Force colours, using a serial based its original USAAF identity of 43-2023. During WWII it was on the strength of 7th AF ATC and was used as the personal aircraft of General Montgomery, Commander 8th Army in North Africa and Italy. Civilianised after the war, it carried the identities NC19934, N93C, N81R, N400RS and finally N56NA. It arrived at Montelimar for addition to the museum by 2001, and until the recent repaint was displayed with red/black trim and that final US registration.

This former JAT Caravelle last flew as F-BYCY for Corse Air. Stored at Orly from 1985, it was moved to the village of Moyenpal in eastern France, initially being used as a karaoke attraction. More recently it has been converted into glamping accommodation, still retaining its orange Corse Air cheatline. A couple of An-2s alongside provide further accommodation, and a dismantled Noratlas which also lies on the site may be added in due course.

The Mirage IV was effectively a scaled-up Mirage III, designed to provide French nuclear delivery capability. The prototype first flew in 1959 and was followed by three pre-production and 62 production aircraft. The force was declared operational in March 1968 but in the mid-1970s the role changed from high to low-level attack and the Mirage IVs started to appear in grey/green camouflage. All bomber variants were retired by 1996 but reconnaissance-modified aircraft continued till 2005.

Painted to represent a locally-relevant RAF Rescue Wessex HC.2, this is really a Royal Navy HU.5 which spent its career from 1964 with 700, 848 and 707 NAS and then from 1968 as a test and evaluation helicopter with the A&AEE Boscombe Down, largely engaged on worldwide cold weather trials. It was withdrawn from use as an apprentice trainer at Farnborough from 1986 and as a fire trainer at Manston by 1995, moving to the museum around 2000.

A surprising exhibit to find in a French museum, this Skyhawk was built as an A-4C for the USN with Bu No 145071. After conversion to A-4SU, it was taken on charge by the R Singapore AF in February 1980, ultimately being retired for preservation in 2015.

The result of 20 years of restoration from a hulk that was almost scrapped. One other Sahara (504) is under long-term rebuild at Ailes Anciennes, Toulouse but apart from that, the neglected hulk of F-BASS at Fontenay-Trésigny (once used as a restaurant) is the only other survivor of the 20 Deux-Ponts built.

Reverse Hawk deal. The Swiss AF operated 20 Hawk T.66s, of which 18 were sold to Finland in 2012. Of the other two, one crashed and one was preserved at Dübendorf. When the Payerne museum wanted to display an example, they obtained a Finnish example, HW-310, and painted it convincingly to represent a Swiss Mk. 66, using the next serial in sequence after the actual allocations U-1251 to U-1270.
