After twelve years with the Royal Pakistan Air Force this Freighter did civil work in New Zealand and then Canada, where both its owners operated out of Terrace. Unfortunately the propliner was damaged beyond repair at the age of 44 when the right-hand landing gear collapsed on landing at Bronson Creek on 24 April 1997. [Nikon N8008S, Kodachrome 64]

Years ago, a lot of photos of this airframe could already be found online, including those of its sad end in 1996. However, hardly visible on those were the 'Instone Air Line' titles on the cargo doors. As I have this shot that shows them at least partly I gladly responded to a request to upload it. Delivered to SAFE in May 1951, operating a frequent freight service across the Cook Strait between North and South Islands. Seen here with an additional "N.Z.R. Rail - Air" badge on the fuselage, for flights operated by SAFE Air on behalf of New Zealand Railways. Aircraft crashed at Blenheim on 3 February 1954 and returned to UK by sea for rebuilding without cabin windows. Withdrawn in 1967 after 16,703 hours. Its fuselage was used to build a 'new' ZK-CWF.
