This DC-8-61 served Japan Air Lines from new in February 1970 until sale to Overseas National as N913R in May 1980.

One of over thirty DC-8-61s delivered to United; this one on May 20, 1968. Converted to a CFM powered -71 in July 1982, the Eight was sold to Guinness Peat Aviation May 1990 and leased back until April 1991. Undergoing a freighter conversion, it was subsequently leased to Translift Airways (EI-TLA), UPS (N783UP), Burlington Air Freight and taken over by Air Transport International (N830BX). It's been stored at Mojave, CA since 2012.

This 1968 build DC-8 was formerly with Eastern Airlines, Japan Airlines and Capitol Air. Photographed wearing advertising for Nationair's then new Montreal - Brussels service, the aircraft was eventually broken up at Smyrna, TN in 1998.

Served UAL from March 1968 until September 1990, being converted to Series 71 in July 1983.
