Fairly unusual to see photos of the Alia jumbos in the original colours, in this case going back to delivery in 3.81. A nice range of other heavies behind too. JY-AFS became G-CITB with B.Cal in 9.87 and JA8192 of ANA in 11.90; after 4.07 flew as 9V-JEA for Jett8 Cargo and became N279SG in 8.12, stored

This was only the 12th Friendship to be built, first flying as long ago as 4.59 and delivered to TAA as VH-TFC next month. In 8.81 bought by Pilgrim Airlines, which merged into Business Express shortly before this photo. Wfu at Hartford, CT then stored at Hernando, FL in 1990. Registered OB-1644 in 8.96 but ferried to Banjul, Gambia for Air Dabia in 1997 where the aircraft remained in store, becoming increasingly dusty, noted 2013

Baby Nines always did look good on camera, especially in nice conditions as at the LGA perimeter access gate on this day. New with TWA in 8.67 and to Midway in 1981, landing up with Aviacsa as XA-TJS in 2.98. Wfu at MEX 2003 and later scrapped

I have an affection for TWA at LGA as I made my first US domestic flight from there aboard a short 727 during this trip. Only the seventh DC-9 to appear from the Long Beach line, 51T was sold to Texas International in 5.77 and by Continental to Aerocalifornia as XA-RXG in 6.91; ferried to Mohave for storage 11.06
