This beautiful interceptor now lies in pieces at CFB Borden but, hopefully, it will be the latest addition to the Base Borden Military Museum and will soon be reassembled for display.

The CWHM Canuck was built in 1958 as a Mk.5 all weather interceptor but later converted into a Mk. 5D ECM aircraft and used to simulate enemy aircraft during NORAD exercises. The aircraft is fitted with wingtip fuel tanks instead of rocket pods to extend its range for it's ECM missions. It served in an electronic warfare role with No. 414 'Black Knight' Sqdn in North Bay, ON until Dec. 1981.

This early production Canuck (MK.3A converted to Mk.3D) wears the 'KE' code of 440 Squadron Royal Canadian Air Force during display at the Aerospace Museum of Calgary.

One of some 692 Canucks built and serving nine squadrons in Canada (where they retained natural metal finish) and four in Europe. Registered G-BCYK to Ormond Haydon-Baillie from 18-Mar-1975 until 15-Sep-1981 and now suspended inside the museum at Duxford, where it had only recently arrived when I took this slide
