This long-lived Electra was delivered to PSA in 1959 as N171PS. It was acquired by Evergreen International in 1979 and converted to a freighter, also being re-registered as N5539 (the second Electra to bear this registration, the first being msn 1080). In 1990 it moved to the UK for operation by Channel Express and in 1992 became G-CEXS. In 2003 it was sold to Air Spray in Canada, becoming C-GZCF, with a large underbelly tank for fire-fighting. On 22 June 2019, C-GZCF was substantially damaged in a belly landing at Red Deer, Alberta, when the landing-gear could not be lowered.

Between operators following a lease to Galaxy Airlines. This Electra later flew in Europe, with Channel Express as G-CHNX and Iona Airways as EI-CHO. Its cockpit section survives in the Midland Air Museum, Coventry.

First flight 1959, delivered new as L-188A VH-RMB to Ansett April 8th 1959. In October 1972 it was converted to freighter L-188A(F), WFU January 1984. September 1984 N358Q TPI International Airways. May 1988 Leased to ALM Antillean Airlines, and October 1989 rr N358WS. April 30th 1992 N358Q JBQ Aviation Corporation. November 1996 WFU at Opa Locka, and March 1997 broken up for spares. First flight 14 October 1959 as a L-188C with reg N9724C, and delivered new as ZK-NEA to TEAL Tasman Empire Airways . In January ZK-TEA transferred to Air New Zealand, named "Aotearoa". N31231 27 May 1972 for Flamingo Air Lines. Converted to freighter in December 1972, and bought by FOF as LN-FOI 11 September 1973, op cargo flights for SAS and other carrieres. Seen parked outside the new freight terminal built in 1980. It was the last of Fred. Olsen's three original Electras to be repainted in 1986. Moved to Coventry in January 1998, and it never flew again.

Somewhere in British Columbia I encountered this beautiful Electra from Air Spray. I hope somebody will recognize the airfield.

Initiating a go-around on Runway 13 while training at Prestwick. Delivered new to KLM in passenger configuration in 1960 as PH-LLG. Converted to a freighter and from 1969 served with around a dozen different operators. Joined Atlantic Airlines in 2001 and was withdrawn from use in 2011. Exported to Canada and stored at Abbotsford BC with Conair Aerial Firefighting. Transferred to Buffalo Airways in 2016 as C-GIZU and entered storage at Red Deer, Alberta, where it was used as a spares source.

To Evergreen International Airlines in Feb 1979. Reregistered to N5534 in Apr 1979 and converted to a freighter. To the Argentine Navy as 0793 / 6-P-104 on 09 Sep 1983. WFU 28 Oct 2002 total hours 34,581. Preserved in Apr 2008 at the Museo de la Aviacion Naval, Bahia Blanca.

Delivered to Braniff as N9709C on 09 Jan 1960. To Holiday Airlines on 04 Jul 1974 and reregistered to N972HA on 18 Sep 1974. To Air California as N124AC on 17 Jun 1975. To Mandala Airlines on PK-RLE on 14 Mar 1980. WFU and stored at CGK in Sep 1989. Broken up in Oct 1997.

To Saturn Airways in 1972 who merged into Trans International Airlines in 1976 and were renamed to Transamerica Airlines in 1979. To DHL Cargo in 1983 and reregistered as N107DH in 1984. Leased to other operators from 1985. Withdrawn from use at Tucson, AZ in 1993 and scrapped in 2003.

To American Jet Industries and converted to an L-188A(F) freighter then to Great Northern Airlines as N404GN in 1977. To Fleming International Airways as N669F in 1980 but still in Great Northern colours when this photo was taken. Fleming were renamed to CAM Air International in 1983 who merged into Spirit of America Airlines in 1986. To Air Bridge Carriers in 1988 then to Fred Olsen as LN-FOL in 1991. WFU at Coventry in 1997. To Atlantic Airlines as G-LOFG in 2000. Not applied and scrapped in 2011.

Withdrawn from use at Greenville-Spartanburg, SC when they ceased operations in 1989. Scrapped in 1993.
