Delivered to Eastern Air Lines as N5535 in 1959. To American Jet Industries in 1977 and converted to a freighter. To Evergreen International Airlines in 1978. In ex-Galaxy Airlines colours after lease to them. To Channel Express Air Services in 1990. Leased to Iona National Airways as EI-CHO in 1993. Returned to Channel Express Air Services as G-CHNX in 1994. Withdrawn from use at Bournemouth-Hurn in 2001 and scrapped in 2003. Nose preserved at the Midland Air Museum, Coventry.

Between operators following a lease to Galaxy Airlines. This Electra later flew in Europe, with Channel Express as G-CHNX and Iona Airways as EI-CHO. Its cockpit section survives in the Midland Air Museum, Coventry.

I had flown out to NAS in this Electra for a day of shooting. Converted to freighter in 1979, and served another 20+ years with several operators.

Fine sight of two Electras gracing Southend's apron together, viewed from the old waving-off terrace. Still bearing her original Eastern registration here, later becoming EI-CHO then G-CHNX. Broken up at Bournemouth in 2002 (nose saved and moved to Pershore, owner intended repaint in 1959 Eastern colours)
