Black-tailed Eagle of the 336th FS "Rocketeers", 4th FW on static display at Spirit of St. Louis Air Show 2024. The 336th FIS was the first F-86 unit to shoot down a MiG-15 over Korea on 17 Dec 1950. An F-4E of the 336th TFS shot down a MiG-21 over Vietnam on 15 Aug 1972 for the 4th TFW's only MiG kill.

"Problem Child" on static display at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2024. This tandem seat scaled down Mustang is powered by a 160 hp BRP-Rotax 916IS turbocharged engine with a four-blade MT propeller.

Running up the De Havilland Gipsy Major 1C engine in the afternoon at Duxford. This Tiger Moth was constructed in 1940 and taken on RAF charge in the same year. The Gipsy Moth and Tiger Moth were to provide a pool of trained civilian pilots when war broke out in 1939, and continued to provide elementary flying training during World War II.

On display at Gifu-Kakamigahara Air and Space Museum. This tandem trainer with "Ōyodo" painted on the fuselage was first flown on 11 Feb 1954 and is one of two built. It was a competitor to the Beech Model 45 Mentor as a primary trainer for the JASDF, though it was not selected. The aircraft was powered by a 260 hp Lycoming GO-435-C2B engine driving a two-bladed Hartzell propeller.

Flying off Miami South Beach at the Hyundai Air & Sea Show 2024. The type is one of five assigned to CGAS Miami. The medium-range surveillance aircraft is a variant of the CASA CN-235. It has a glass cockpit, search radar and the E/O pod contains a FLIR and a CCD camera. Update of the HC-144A to HC-144B standard under the OSR project includes integration of the Minotaur mission system capable of handling C4ISR. Aerial delivery of SAR equipment can be done via the cargo ramp.

Taxiing by at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2024 in the evening. This last production version of the Twin Beech built in 1962 is powered by P&W R-935 Wasp Junior radial engines driving Hartzell three-blade propellers. The aircraft is one of just 40 to have a conventional undercarriage, with single fork legs. The other 109 'H' models were equipped with tricycle gear.

Striking pink jet making its debut at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2024. This 1979 Albatros is flown by the Aerial Angels to promote awareness and raise funds for breast cancer organizations.

"Kiburi" lined up on Rwy 14 at SSRIA for a summer morning departure. This ex-Swissair A330 joined Edelweiss Air on 15 Oct 2010, exiting the fleet on 3 Dec 2016. It went to Brussels Airlines on 31 Jan 2017 till withdrawn from use in 2020. The aircraft was broken up in Nov 2021.

Inside the hangar at Fantasy of Flight museum. This is a 2004 reproduction built by Kim Kovach that was acquired by Kermit Weeks. The original "Ike" was a 1932 racer built by Ben Howard and Gordon Israel, along with a similar aircraft called "Mike." The racers were flown in a number of races in the 1930s, with "Ike" flown by Howard finishing with two firsts and a second in the 1932 National Air Races. In 1935 the aircraft was renamed "Miss Chevrolet" for the 1935 National Air Races. Its fuel system was modified to win the world's fastest inverted speed record.

One of the most beautiful aircraft seen on static display at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2024. This floatplane with Aerocet 3400 composite amphibious floats is a contemporary build of the classic WACO YMF biplane of the 1930s that was powered by a 225 hp Jacobs L-4 radial engine. The new build land or amphibious biplane is powered by a 300 hp Jacobs R-755-A2 seven-cylinder radial engine and MT propeller.

Parked at Warbird Alley during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2024. This Mustang was built in 1944 as a P-51D and taken on USAAF charge as s/n 44-473142. The aircraft was first registered as N6173C in civilian hands, changing owners and registration several times over the years. It was converted to a TF-51D in 2001. The Mustang previously carried the name "E Pluribus Unum." It is painted in the markings of the 487th FS, 352nd FG, which had Maj George Preddy and Lt Col John C. Meyer as its top ETO aces. The "Blue Noses" were awarded a DUC for their defense of Airfield Y-29 during Op Bodenplatte.

Taking part in the impressive combat assault demo by the Wisconsin National Guard at EAA Airventure Oshkosh 2024, with smoke rising from artillery to one side of the active. The Black Hawk is from 1st Assault Helicopter Battalion, 147th Aviation Regiment under the 64th Troop Command.

White 45 on display at Fantasy of Flight museum. This I-16 Type 24 originally fitted with a 1,000 hp M-62R engine was one of six rebuilt in Russia in 1997 for the Alpine Fighter Collection from remains discovered in the Leningrad region. It was sold to CAF in 2001 and to Kermit Weeks in 2019. First flown on 31 Dec 1933, the I-16 was then on par with other fighter aircraft. Later outclassed, the 'Ishak' bore the brunt of the Luftwaffe's attack during the opening days of Op Barbarossa. A few I-16s from 123rd and 124th Fighter Aviation Regiment deliberately rammed Luftwaffe fighters in combat.

On display on the deck of museum ship CV-10 USS Yorktown. Derived from the A3D Skywarrior designed to operate from supercarriers as a nuclear bomber, the seven-seat EA-3B was the electronic recce and ECM variant. A crew of four operated the long Q-Band sideways looking ventral radar. The type entered service in Apr 1960 and was still flying during Op Desert Storm, standing down in 1991. This EA-3B served with VQ-1 "World Watchers" at NAS Agana, was embarked on CNV-70 USS Carl Vinson and went to VQ-2 "Sandeman" at NAVSTA Rota. It was saved for preservation by many donors and volunteers.

On static display at EAA Airventure Oshkosh 2024. This helicopter was built as a HH-60J, later modified to a MH-60T for the USCG with a glass cockpit, E/O pod and life-saving equipment. It currently operates from CGAS Traverse City to cover Lake Michigan, Lake Superior and Lake Huron.

One of a pair of Thunderbolts flying in support of HH-60G Pave Hawks and a HC-130J during a simulated rescue operation off Miami South Beach at the Hyundai Air & Sea Show 2024. This aircraft was built in 1981 as an A-10A. It was converted to an OA-10A and in 2006 to an A-10C. The aircraft served in Afghanistan during Op Enduring Freedom. It wears the FT "Flying Tiger" tail code of the 23rd FG.

Taxiing by at Space Coast Regional Airport. Cessna's Model 150 traces its origin to the Model 140A. The landing gear was changed to a tricycle design. It was sold in the Standard, Trainer and Commuter version, powered by a 100 hp Continental O-200A four-cylinder engine. The Model 150 saw many improvements over the years, including production of the Aerobat version designed for entry-level aerobatic training. The 150M features a longer dorsal fin and larger vertical stabilizer area compared to earlier versions. This aircraft was built in 1975. Production of the Model 150 ended in 1977.

Only extant Ki-61-II Kai on display at Gifu-Kakamigahara Air and Space Museum. This aircraft was formerly on display in the Peace Museum for Kamikaze Pilots at Chiran, Kyushu. Previously painted to represent a Hien (Flying Swallow) from the famous 244th Hiko-Sentai led by Maj. Teruhiko Kobayashi based at Chōfu airfield that downed B-29s, it is now in bare metal finish. The engine attachment bolt holes, supercharger air intake, landing light, oil cooler and radiator can be seen. Transfer of the Hien to Kakamigahara has significance as the sleek fighter was mass produced here during the war.
