A former German Border Police Alouette II can be found at the Grenzlandmuseum Eichsfeld in Teistungen, located at the former border between West and East Germany. The helicopter, which has a protective cover for its canopy, is registered D-HBJM with the Bundesgrenzschutz, and was previously operated as 7794 with the West German Army.

The third production Alouette II had quite an interesting career. Taken on strength by the ALAT in June 1956, she was extensively used in the Algeria war. After having been decommissioned and registered F-GIJE, she flew a very lengthy trip in 2007, to celebrate the 100 years of vertical flying from Paris to... Oshkosh, via Scotland, Island, Greenland, Newfoundland and all the way down through the Americas! She finally hit the headlines on the 2 July 2018, when she was hijacked and used for a prison escape of a very high profile gangster. Sadly she was partly burnt by the hijackers after this event.

On 15 July 1957, this Alouette II, or Hkp2 in Swedish military parlour, entered service with the Swedish navy. It flew until 1987 and in June 2006 it had appeared in the excellent Aeroseum at Säve for display.

The Hkp2 flew with the Swedes from 1959 until 1988. The Svenska marinen employed the type equipped with depth charges in an anti-submarine role. This example is now on display at this very interesting museum.

The Alouette II, or Hkp2 in Swedish Air Force parlour, is one of the first rescue helicopters that served with the Swedish Air Force. It is preserved in the excellent Flyg- och Lottamuseum in Optand.
