Eagerly awaited by the population local to the Salisbury Plain Training Area was the annual firepower demonstration at Larkhill which is situated on the eastern edge of the SPTA. Just about every type of weapon was unleashed on the range targets. Even an "Honest John" missile was fired off on at least one occasion(1962) XV219 is demonstrating an Ultra Low Level Airdrop(ULLA) on an unusually damp day. The extraction chutes are out of the picture. View looking north with a couple of 'Tank' targets visible in the background. It was delivered to Lockheed in December 2000 and scrapped.

First flown on 25 September 1986, delivered to the RAF on 30 October 1986, this F3 was involved in a mid-air collision, slightly damaged and rebuilt for operational service again. Through the years, the Tornado then served through the years nearly all RAF F3 squadrons and was eventually stored at Leuchars in December 2008. It was moved to Leeming by late January 2009 and fully stripped. The future was not bright anymore for this aircraft, it was moved to the scrapyard and was demolished by mid October 2010.

On 25 February 2021, the Sentinel R1 Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) era came to an end for the Royal Air Force. RAF Sentinels, introduced in the RAF in 2008, saw combat operations in Afghanistan, Libya, Mali, Nigeria, Iraq and Syria and was closely involved in surveillance operations near the Russian border / Kaliningrad. The UK Ministry of Defence advised the Defence Equipment Sales Authority (DESA) that the five R1s of 5(AC)sq (this ZJ690 and ZJ691, ZJ692, ZJ693) to sell the aircraft.
