My father was a passenger on this trip. Built in the USA and assigned serial 66-8569 which was never carried. Delivered new to the RAF as XV219 on 09 Dec 1967. Later converted to a C3. Transferred to Lockheed on 26 Nov 2000 and scrapped.

On the left of the pic is the starboard wing of Brigand RH746, in the foreground the fuselage of Provost T1 XF553 and a meteor engine intake near the nose. At the time of the photo the Unimetal scrap yard had been abandoned for many years, after the yard was cleared it became a housing estate.
