This L-12A was built by Lockheed as NC16077 in October 1939. It was shipped to England in April 1939 aboard the SS Aquitania, registered G-AFTL for photographic duties around Europe and North Africa. This plane was the last British registered aircraft to leave Germany before the start of WWII. After the outbreak of the war it retained its civil reg. and was used as a camera ship and to test the efficiency of aircraft reporting system. It was badly damaged when a parachuted mine hit the hangar at Heston so returned to Lockheed for repairs. It would not return to UK skies again until March 2022.

Allocated as TX202 but delivered directly to the Ministry of Civil Aviation as G-AGWF in late 1945. Registered to Sperry Gyroscope Company from May 1951 until April 1955 when sold to Shackleton Aviation who in turn sold it on to Fairways of Jersey in October 1955. Withdrawn from use by 1960 and scrapped.

Built in 1951 and registered to the Anglo Iranian Oil Company. Sold in South Africa as ZS-DFJ in October 1951 and returned to the UK with Fairey Aviation in November 1955. Re-registered to Fairey Surveys in July 1959 and cancelled as destroyed in November 1976

Registered as G-BEFR in 1976. Destroyed in a fatal crash in Wiltshire in 1995.

Ordered by the USAAF as 43-14887 and transferred to the RAF as HB614. Returned to the USAAF then registered as G-AJPI in 1947. Based in the Netherlands from 2003. CofA expired in 2010. Still current on the register in 2023.

Registered as G-AVSC in 1967. Current on the register in 2023.

Registered as G-AMRF in 1952, VT-DHA in 1953 then G-AMRF in 1954. CofA expired in 2007 and stored near Boston, Lincolnshire. Current on the register in 2023.

Registered as G-AWYY in 1969, N1917H in 1971 and G-AWYY in 1976. Preserved at Thorpe Park from 1977 then to the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton 1985.

'First photograph released of the Fairey Jet Gyrodyne helicopter, which has completed successfully its initial flight tests at White Waltham Aerodrome, near Maidenhead, Berkshire.' First registered to De Havilland Aircraft UK 29/4/49 for use as demonstrator. To Rhodesia as VP-YKA in October 1952 and 7Q-YKA with Air Malawi circa 1967. Later became 9J-RKA, Zambian AF AF-408/ZAF-408 and 9J-NAI. Registered to Newcal Aviation as N5482J in September 1984 and reported as such for rebuild at Lanseria in November 1990. Current status unknown.

This aircraft survives as it is stored dismantled with the Espace Air Passion at Angers.

This aircraft was exported to the UK in November 1971 and became G-AZJD. It was de-registered in October 1984 when it returned to France as F-WZDU but was later re-registered F-AZDU and is still current.
