A full scale replica of the Fokker Dr.I, an icon during WWI. And of course well-known as German ace Manfred 'The Red Baron' von Richthofen shot down 80 aircraft with his red Dr.I. In total, 320 Dr.1's were built, but no original frame has survived.
Unlike many Fokker triplane reproductions, Mikael Carlson's Dr.I feels like a real WWI war machine. It has an authentic rotary engine, albeit a Le Rhône, and even comes with machine gun sound. It is painted as an aircraft flown by Lt Johann Janzen, a Jasta 6 ace, in February 1918.
