Beginning 1975: Several owners with N36AP. 4/06: Basler Turbo Conversions, Oshkosh, WI. Converted to BT-67 with turbo-props. 8/12: Exported to Canada.

21 Jan '44: To USAAF as C-47A 42-92521, delivered to USN as R5D-5 17135. 4 Aug'44: TOS USMC, Homeland Defense Network, Marine Base Defense Aircraft Wing. Served in many USMC and USN squadrons, finally joined Naval Arctic Research Laboratory, Point Barrow, AK, with c/r N9382 on 16 Aug 1971. Tracked Russian ship movements until 1977. Skis installed. 6/77: Offered for sale. Several owners until 2011 when it went to Days Gone By Museum.

Ordered by USAAF as C-47 42-32814. 6 Feb 43: TOS USN as R4D-1 37670 and assigned to VR-3, NAS Alameda, CA. 12/44: Fleet Air Wing 5. 30 Nov 46: SOC. 11/63: Cummins Engine Company, Columbus, IN, with c/r N66699. Modified into the Cummins Diesel corporate plane with many modifications. Passed to several other companies, last registration N84KB.

The accident occurred at Waldron, AR while attempting to land with an engine hanging on lower mount only.
