Painted with markings of Spitfire MK1A delivered to 603 Squadron, 30th August 1940 and shot down in flames off the North Foreland and crashed in to the sea 3rd September, 1940. The famous pilot Richard Hillary was at controls when shot down and managed to bailed out safely although he was badly wounded. Originally TB382 delivered to the RAF on 17th January 1945 and which later appeared in the film "The Battle of Britain". Exhibited at Cosford by the RAF Exhibition Flight in false markings MK673 as an aircraft of 165 Sqn, and latterly with the BBMF at Coningsby (for spares).

K25 slide scan. Built 1969 as N2804W for Western. Faucett OB-1303 1987. Leased to Air Malta 1990. While returning to its owners 11 September 1990 at the end of the summer season the aircaft ran out of fuel off the coast of Newfoundland and was lost with all on board.

Between 1986 and 1990, this one spent four years with Luxair, before being sold to Belgium and later to the US. Since 1995 it has been flying for Bearskin Airlines of Canada, and it is still active in 2020.

The registration is a clue that this DC-9 was delivered first to North Central Airlines (September 16, 1976). With a name change to Republic Airlines in 1979 and merger with Northwest Airlines in 1986, the aircraft was in service until an accident put it out of action. On May 19, 2005, it suffered a failure of one (of two) hydraulic systems. Landing safely at Minneapolis, the crew inadvertently shut down the engine with the good hydraulic pump. Cascading failures of the nose wheel steering, brakes and thrust reversers for lack of hydraulic pressure caused the aircraft to collide with an A319.
