Although featuring an image of a hotel, the airport at Birdsville is located very close to the township meaning transit passengers can wander over and enjoy some refreshments - until the flight attendants (in blue uniform) come and "round them up" for the next sector to Alice Springs.

Birdsville airport's sole building in 1982 located in the "red center" desert of Australia. Famous for the annual Birdsville horse races where most attendees fly in, increasing the normal town population of around 100 by up to 7000.

This 1957 Beaver was formerly with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Air Division. It was traded back to De Havilland Canada for a Turbo Beaver in 1979. It would be officially registered to Kluane Airways in September 1981. It's still current at the time of uploading.
