With the dual civil/military markings carried between 1971and 1990, when the civil registration was cancelled. The aircraft has been preserved at Brooklands Museum, Weybridge.

One of nine Kestrel development aircraft built in 1964/5 for evaluation, and used by the Tri-partite Kestrel Evaluation Squadron at RAF West Raynham in 1965. It was then used for trials at RAE Bedford and A&AEE Boscombe Down, where it was damaged beyond repair in a landing accident on 1 March 1967. It spent some time with RNEC Manadon for ground instruction, where the wings from XS696 were fitted. It moved to the School of Aircraft Handling at Culdrose in April 1978, and was eventually moved to the RAF Museum Cosford in November 2001, where it is now on display.

771 Naval Air Squadron's primary role was Search and Rescue, which explains the colourful livery. The unit's unofficial Ace of Clubs badge is visible on the upper fuselage.

706 Naval Air Sq. was the Sea King flying training unit. This is a HAS.2, converted from a HAS.1 in 1978 at RNAY Fleetlands.

Flypast, undercarriage down. I don't believe it landed.

The other pair of photos in the database are from later years, when the white upper surfaces had become grey, in the interests of lower visibility.

For some unknown reason, XX479 had slight differences in markings from the rest of the squadron's Jetstreams. The black nose code has a white outline, and the red on the fin is divided by a white triangular section.

705 Naval Air Squadron flew a 4-ship Gazelle display team as "The Sharks".

A HAS.3 conversion of an early production HAS.1 Wessex. This helicopter still survives, now in the Helicopter Museum, and strangely still coded '653'.

Written off in a landing accident on 13 December 1981 at St Andrews Bay, Falkland Islands, after which it was stripped for spares and abandoned.
