Built in 1944 as a UC-64A with US serial 44-70515, this Norseman was delivered to the UK and flew briefly at the Norwegian training base at Winkleigh, Devon in May 1945. On joining the R Norwegian Air Force it was given the identity 'R-AF', flying on wheels and floats. In 1959 it was sold as LN-TSN and again to Sweden in 1963 becoming SE-CGM. It is now operated by the Norwegian Spitfire Foundation. Making its first appearance in the UK since 1945 at Duxford in 2017, it is seen here overwintering in the museum hangar at Gardermoen and flies from Kjeller aerodrome in summer.

A shot through the cabin door of RAF Sea King HAR3 XZ590, framing RNAF Seaking Mk.43 073 in formation near Stavanger during an exchange visit. Part of a sortie in mountain flying that was terminated early due to the ground coming up and the cloud coming down. There is a awful lot of cumulo-granite in Norway.

Junkers sent this new floatplane as a rescue aircraft in support of Roald Amundsen's planned flight across the North Pole from Alaska to Spitsbergen, known today as Svalbard. It arrived in Tromsø by ship on 21 June 1923 and made some local pleasure flights. By then Amundsen had cancelled his Arctic flight. One of eleven Ju 52s that landed on frozen Hartvig Lake near Narvik on 13 April 1940, DB-QU was damaged when landing or possibly by Allied air attacks. The wreck remains in the lake today. The origin of the photo is unknown but it would seem to have been taken in June 1940, after the ice melted and useful parts, including the left engine, had been removed. On 13 April 1940 eleven Ju 52s landed on frozen Hartvig Lake to fly in a mountain artillery battery for the German troops in Narvik. Only one could take off again. Norwegian forces drove the Germans from the lake and tried to prepare three of the Ju 52s for their own use. Despite empty fuel drums strapped underneath the aircraft selected by the Norwegians, all ten Ju 52s on the lake eventually sank. Five were salvaged in good condition in the 1980s and 6821 is preserved in Speyer.
