Registered to KLM in late February 1929 and damaged in a storm near Haamstede on July 15, 1936. The registration was cancelled on August 7, 1936 and the aircraft was scrapped. Parts were said to be sold to Air France.

The aircraft was registered to KLM late April 1935 but was involved in an accident at Schiphol on Juli 14, 1935. The aircraft took off from Schiphol, bound for Malmö Sweden (with stops in Hamburg and Copenhagen). When engines 1 and 2 began losing power, the pilot was forced to return to Schiphol .The aircraft struck the slope of the number 4 highway and crashed. A fire erupted afterwards.

The D.XVII was the successor of the D.XVI, the latter not being a success with lots of crashes and engine troubles. After a short trial period, 10 aircraft were ordered. Including the prototype, they were registered 201-211. According to ASN, '201' was lost while performing aerobatics on May 23, 1936. Both wings broke off at 6000m. The pilot managed to parachute to safety.

As May 10, 1940 passed, only 7 were left in service (202-205, 207, 209 , 210). The Air Force training base at Texel was attacked on this day, during which 204 was likely damaged. From the remaining 6 fighters, 202 and 203 were hit by friendly fire. During other non-operational movements, a further 2 were damaged. Only 1 mission was flown; 205, 209 and 210 were scheduled on a mission to Grebbeberg, where they were to support 4 C.V's and a C.X in a tactical ground support mission. But 209 had engine troubles at the start and didn't participate. The mission was a failure due to several reasons.

The old fighter wears the orange triangle markings introduced 1 October 1939 but it is listed as withdrawn that July. Perhaps it found a non-flying retirement job.

The FK.45 aerobatic aircraft, designed for French pilot René Paulhan. The single example was first flown by Frits Koolhoven himself in February 1932, but the plane was 60 kg (132 lb) overweight. It was not picked up by Paulhan until March 1934, becoming F-AMXT. Photo from: ETH-Bibliothek Zürich

After the merger of Go Fly and Easyjet, the latter continued the use of this Go Fly machine for a couple of years. It was sold to KD Avia in November 2005 and subsequently re-registered EI-DMM.

After serving as a gate-guard here for 25 years (since April 1981), this Neptune was dismantled and transported to De Kooy Airport near Den Helder on 23/25-May-2006. It was still on display there by 2020.
