Being repositioned back into the Hangar Bay One building at the museum. It was on display outside in conjunction with a change of command ceremony that was held inside the main museum building.

After years of storage reserved for the National Museum of Naval Aviation , this Lockheed Electra / development prototype for the P-3 Orion was scrapped in 2016.

After a 14 year restoration F4U-1 02465 is now on display in the National Naval Aviation Museum. It was accepted by the USN on 26 March 1943 and assigned to the Carrier Qualification Training Unit (CQTU) at NAS Glenview, IL on 29 March 1943. On 12 June 1943 02465 went into Lake Michigan after a nonfatal landing accident on USS Wolverine. It was salvaged from the lake on 12 November 2010 and delivered to the museum where the restoration was accomplished.

After donation to the NMNA in 1976, the surviving VS-44 was later transferred for an extensive restoration at Sikorsky's Stratford CT airfield, where it was built in 1942. First operated by American Export Airlines with beds, dressing rooms, galley, snack bar, lounge and full ventilation, it was impressed for war service by the USN as JR2S-1 12391, carrying passengers and freight between New York and Foynes, Ireland. In 1949 Tampico Airlines attempted to start freight runs in the Amazon but abandoned the VS-44 in Peru. In the late 1950s it was recovered to California for Avalon Air Transport.

Ordered by the US Navy as PV-1 33322 and transferred to the RCAF as Ventura GR Mk.V 2202 in 1943. Sold as N5776N in 1951 and converted to civilitan cofiguration in 1952. Converted to a Spartan Ventura in 1954 then converted to a Howard Super Ventura and reregistered as N507N in 1959. Converted to a Howard 350 in 1966. Impounded for drug running in Oklahoma in 1975. Operated by the US Customs Service from 1976 then preserved at Pensacola from 1978. Airlifted to Fernando Beach by helicopter for restoration in 1986. Damaged beyond repair in transit and broken up for parts.

Inititally preserved at the USMC Museum, MCAS Quantico, VA. Moved to Pensacola around 1975 then to Yankee Air Force Museum, Willow Run, MI by 1987 and to the Planes of Fame Air Museum, Chino, CA in 1989.

Delivered to the USAF as SA-16B 51-7236. Transferred to the US Coast Guard as UF-1G 7236 in 1953. Converted to a UF-2G around 1957. Redesignated as as HU-16E in 1962. Flown to Pensacola for preservation in 1977.

In primer while being restored. Delivered to the US Navy as 89082 in 1946. Set a distance record. Took off from Perth, Australia Sep 29, 1946 and landed at Columbus, Ohio Oct 1, 1946. It flew with a crew of four U.S. Navy officers and a young kangaroo, covering 18,089.3 kilometers (11,235.6 miles) in 55 hours 18 minutes. Preserved at NAS Norfolk, VA from 1953. Moved by barge to Pensacola in 1977.

In primer while being restored. Delivered to the US Navy as 7099 in 1942. To the Hughes Tool Company as N69003 in 1946. Howard Hughes used it for training in preparing to fly his HK-1 flying boat. Maintained in airworthy condition into the 1960s then stored at Long Beach, CA. Tranported by barge to Pensacola, FL via the Panama Canal in 1977.

Delivered to the US Navy as 66313 in 1945. Sold as N3431G in 1959 and used for parts at Greybull, WY. Restored by Hawkins and Powers in 1981/83 using parts from 66304/N2870G which had crashed at Ramona, CA in 1980. After restoration the aircraft adopted the identity of BuNo 66304 and its civil registration N2870G for a ferry flight to Pensacola in 1983.

Built in 1967. Damaged beyond repair in an accident in 1972. Preserved at Pensacola. Moved to Tillamook Air Museum, OR in 1998.

Built in 1969. Preserved at Pensacola from 1978.

Delivered in 1958. Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB in 1966. To Keystone Helicopters as N7388 in 1981. Preserved at Pensacola from 1982.
