The aircraft was cancelled from the register on 19th January 1979 as permanently withdrawn from use.

Ex-Channel Airways. Withdrawn from use at Gatwick 1978. Wings cut off and used as a ground trainer. Scrapped in 2004.

Delivered new in 1959 and scrapped at Gatwick (EGKK) in 2004 after service with Dan-Air London and use as a towing trainer. [Note the high-security fence! Also, on a personal note, the telescope laying beside the bag is a Denhill Pancratic X25-X40 which was a very popular model with spotters back then. You had to mail-order them from a classified advert in the newspaper. I still have mine 60 years later.]

Former Dan-Air aircraft was in use by the British Airports Authority at Gatwick for a number of years as a towing trainer for tug drivers.

Operated by BEA from new in November 1959 until sold in June 1970. Flown by Dan-Air from April 1972 until retired in December 1978.
