Taken on strength June 1956, this Chipmunk was retired in November 1971. Sold privately via Crown Assets Disposal Corporation as CF-BNM (later C-FBNM) in 1972, the trainer was acquired by the Canadian Historical Aircraft Association in 1998. Now known as the Canadian Aviation Museum, the Windsor based museum keeps several aircraft in it's collection airworthy and available for rides to the public.

Originally Royal Canadian Air Force serial 18071, later Canadian Armed Forces 12071 and later still civilianised as CFQKV / C-FQKV. Unsurprisingly in view of it's condition when photographed it was cancelled from the US Civil Aircraft Register 04-06-2013.
