Whilst parked on the temporary BHAM site during the gales of 5 September 1967, this recently renovated aircraft was lifted 15ft into the air and thrown over Anson TX211, parked alongside. The nose of the Anson was crushed and the Magister came to rest across the wings of the Anson and Drover VH-EAS, which suffered only slight damage. The Magister was destroyed.

At one time with the FAA as P6411, this aircraft had been stored at Plymouth/Roborough for some years, and for a short time was owned by the CFI of Plymouth Aero Club. It is seen here just prior to leaving for the Historic Aircraft Museum, Southend. I understand that it was damaged beyond repair in a gale at Southend on 5 September 1967, having been repainted in military marks. The registration was eventually cancelled on 6 July 1973 as permanently withdrawn from use.
