This HH-3F did not survive as it crashed on 23 October 2008. It was one of two HH-3Fs on their way from France to Belgium when it came down near Lisles-en-Barrois and Vaubecourt near Strassbourg (France). The Pelican was on its way from Dijon to the Tactical Leadership Program exercise at Florennes (Belgium). Unfortunately, all eight people on board were killed after most probably one of the main rotor blades broke off which cut the tail rotor during a low level flight. The Pelican then impacted the terrain at full speed.
