A very rare type in Australia - in fact, the only one of its kind! This aircraft was built in its native Sweden by Sixten Gustavsson between 1973 and 1993, it was acquired by its current owner in 2005. When the owner moved back to Australia, the aircraft came too and was fortuitously registered VH-XHP on 18 May 2007. It's seen here visiting the Wide Bay International Airshow.

Getting ready to start up. This Nanchang has been based in Bendigo for a couple of years now and seems to have an endless stream of customers lining up to do an aerobatic joyride. Originally built for the PLAAF and imported to Australia in 1990. Assembled at Bankstown 1991 & registered VH-NNB on 12 April that year. Obviously the rudder has been recently re-covered.

Ordered in 1981 and built by CAC as a Block 15 Hornet, delivered 27 June 1986. Initially allocated to 2 OCU. Transferred to 77 Squadron and painted in an experimental dark grey scheme for some years. Deployed to Diego Garcia in 2002 and interchanged between 3 and 77 Squadrons. Returned to Williamtown on 22 May 2002. Upgraded to HUG Phase 1. Currently wears 77 Squadron markings and photograped as one of a Hornet 4-ship display at the Australian International Airshow. Note the Kiwi 'zap'!

No Roulettes this year, but Chopper 2 was at the RAAF Museum Air Pageant in support of two PC-9s from CFS, and to do a winching display in its own right. In the background is my 'office' for the weekend. :-)

This 1965 Aztec was originally registered N5751Y but came to Australia essentially new and was re-registered VH-CBP on 18 November 1966. It's spent time all round Australia as its first owner was in Julia Creek, outback Queensland, before moving to Western Australia. It's currently based at Bendigo.

This is an orignal Cessna 150, first registered in Australia on 15 January 1960 - and it would probably have been brand new. This aircraft was produced as a standard Airvan and was registered on 4 December 2002 (although it's got a 2003 cn!). It was later converted to become the prototype turbocharged Airvan, for which certification was achieved in February 2009. It previously appeared at the Australian International Airshow in 2007 in MAF colours - possibly for promotional purposes. It's seen here taxying in from a handling demo in 2009 in the very capable hands of Gippy's test pilot, Dave Wheatland.

This Skywagon came to Australia new and was registered VH-UJH(2) on 17 May 1979. Unusually for a Cessna, it doesn't seem to have had a US flight test registration allocated.

This Huey was allocated the US serial 63-13587 for administrative purposes, but was delivered new to 9 Sqn RAAF in 1964. Shipped to Vietnam, it served there 1966-68. During that time it saw action at most of the major Australian battles, including being shot down in April 1967. As a result a new tailboom had to be grafted on to the forward fuselage. Allocated to the AWM in 1985 and displayed since 2007 in this very realistic action diorama.
