Built as a C-47A and converted to Wright engines. Scrapped in 1970.

Built for American Airlines but taken over the US military as a C-50 in World War II. After the war it was sold to Australian National Airways and fitted with Wright engines in common with the rest of the ANA fleet. It had been built with Wrights but Pratt and Whitney Twin Wasps were installed in 1944. It passed to Ansett with the takeover of ANA and remained with the company until stored at Essendon airport in 1970. In 1972 it was ferried to Melbourne Tullamarine and repainted in Ansett's contemporary livery, then ferried to Moorabbin airport for display. It remains there.

Joined Australian National Airways in 1946, to Ansett-ANA when that airline was created in a merger and converted to a "Cargoliner" in 1960. Sold in Laos in 1968 as XW-TDM. It was shot down in May 1973.

Registered to Delta as NC28346 in 6.44 after military service and flying as VQ-LAX for St Lucia Airways from 1974, this DC-3 had the misfortune to perish in Hurricane Hugo at San Juan on 17.9.89

Transferred to MMA in 1970. Later sold in the USA as N99131.

Imported into Australia in 1938. It was restored in 1988 as part of the Australian Bicentennial celebrations after 13 years off the register. Still registered in 2017 but in the hands of a society set up to maintain it. Ansett went out of business in 2001.

Fifth DC-3. Built as a DST for American NC16004. Oldest flying at the time picture was taken, which was 1969-70. Sold as ZS-DAK, it crashed on December 28, 1973.

Sold in Cambodia in 1972.

Ordered by Eastern Air Lines but delivered to USAAC as a C-49B. To Cambodia in 1971 as XU-FAI.

Wings removed in 1968 for sistership VH-ANR and rest of airframe scrapped

Airlines of NSW kept VH-ANR until 1972 for charter work. It is now in a museum.
