Goodyear built Corsair bu 92508 was taken on strength by the US Navy in 1945. The warbird is based out of the Military Air Museum in Virginia Beach, VA. It's painted as the fighter of Norfolk-born Ray Beacham, who flew with VF-17 in the Pacific during World War II..

Built for the French Navy under the Military Defense Assistance Program (MDAP). This a/c was damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. In 2008 it was transferred to the San Diego Air and Space Museum, where it was restored and is now on display.

Delivered to the French Navy in 1952 under the Military Defense Assistance Program (MDAP). Operational from 1952 through 1964, then used as a ground instructional airframe 1964 through 1973. Shipped back to the U.S. in 1974, registered as N1337A, and first flight after restoration in August 1976. Based in Duxford, England from 1982 through 1993, then brought back to the U.S. It is currently on display at the Tillamook Air Museum in Oregon.

This FG-1D is now on display at the Navy Museum in Washington, D.C. and is marked as F4U-1 Bureau Number 17640.

USMC F4U-4s were used to provide security patrols during the Operation Castle nuclear tests at Bikini Atoll and also decontamination testing, with four operated as drones. 81624 is seen here being decontaminated. This photo is sometimes said to be at Parry Island. This comes from photos in a report purporting to show aircraft being decontaminated on Parry. Post war US Navy F4U-4 Corsair 97388 was sold out of storage to Bob Bean Aircraft in 1957 as N5211V. An arrangement was made with the Fuerza Aérea Hondureña to trade some aircraft for four airworthy Lockheed P-38L's and two flyable and two wrecked P-63E's in Honduras. This aircraft was delivered as FAH 610 in 1960. Mostly used as a source of parts, the broken down components of the fighter were repatriated to the USA in 1978. Through several collector owners, it was restored to flying condition and registered N72378 circa 1998.

Uncompleted sale to Honduran Air Force saw Corsair bu 97359 registered N5213V in 1959. Stored in Phoenix (1959) and Tucson AZ (1969), the aircraft was registered N97359 to fly in TV series "Ba Ba Black Sheep" 1976 - 78. Later it was based in Duxford, UK as N240CA during 1988 - 92 wearing New Zealand Navy markings. Pictured as bu 82050 which Lieutenant Thomas Hudner jr made a wheels-up landing behind enemy lines near Koto-Ri, North Korea in an unsuccessful attempt to rescue his wingman Ensign Jesse Brown on Dec 4, 1950. Lt. Hudner was rescued by helicopter and later awarded the Medal of Honor.
