This An-26 was given to Somalia by Libya in 1990 and was stored at NBO from 1993. It was previously 8204 with the Libyan AF, hence the derived Somali registration. Removal was ordered in 2020 and following auction next year, in March 2022 it was moved to a resort hotel at Ruiri in Kenya along with An-24 3C-ZZA which had been stored nearby at NBO

It was good to see this Antonov in the UK (support for the Biało-Czerwone Iskry aerobatic team), bringing back memories of a noisy flight in her from KRK to PRG and return in 1991. One of three which were operated by the military in LOT colours for ten years from Mar 1986, this one was otherwise known as 1604 and was delivered to the Polish AF as such in Mar 1973 and reverted to those marks in Feb 1996. Reported wfu 2005 but seen parked at KRK 2008 in the two-tone green and grey camo; registered SP-EKF and noted at KTW 2010, still there 2017 as '1604'

The clouds broke to shed some mild evening sunlight on this good-looking An-26. Also visible is a Mi-26 which sat here for several years.

This is likely to be another An-26 that was transferred from the Air Force (possibly ex-8301) although it does not carry a serial like many of the others

Clean looking An-26 from the Serbian AF and welcome by me as it was the first I'd shot. Reworked at Rostov in 2008; three more were due to undergo the same, while four are held for spares. Operated by 138 MTAS at Batajnica

Previously unknown and very rare, this was a highlight even by Havana standards. Seen as CCCP-47333 on delivery to the Cuban AF in 4.79 and later CU-T1230 with Cubana and CU-T111 with Aerocaribbean, to whom she returned after the first Venezuelan venture in 1996. Re-reg CU-T1501 by 1.01; seen SDQ as YV-1110C 4.03 and then to Solar Cargo as YV1402. Identity crisis?!

The aircraft of Libyan Air Cargo are often engaged in paramilitary operations and many of the Antonov 26s carry serials as well - this ex-Air Force example has 8209 next to the name 'Waddan' on the nose
