Delivered to JAL as JA8018 in 1966. To Aeronaves del Peru as OB-R-1200 in 1980. Sold as N7015Q in 1988. To LAC Colombia as HR-AMU in 1993. Reregistered as HK-3979 in 1994. Crashed after takeoff from Asuncion in 1996.

Ex United N8043U, re-registered 15th Sep 1987. On the 28th Apr 1995 the aircraft landed at Guatemala City-La Aurora runway 19 in light rain. The aircraft overran the runway, collided with approach lights, a perimeter fence and went down a steep slope and ended up in a residential area.

The aircraft also has an IAS sticker, the two cargo airlines merged in August 1979.

Capitol International Airways bought this DC-8 from Braniff Airlines after they acquired it in a merger with Panangra Airways in 1967. It was operated by the airline and at times leased out until bought off lease by Sun Land Airlines in 1981.

Delivered to KLM as PH-DCC 9th May 1960 and sold to Philippine Airlines as PI-C827 3rd Apr 1970 ,then re-registered RP-C827 24th Feb 1974. Sold as N833FA Aug 1979 and wfu KOPF June 1983 where is was broken up.

Ex N8012U, re-registered 21st Apr 1979 (Concorde International Airlines) and transferred to MPA Apr 1979. wfu KMZJ Jan 1983 and scrapped March 1985. Owned by MPA - Michigan Penninsula Airlines.

With the larger titles and tail lettering. Basic history is that it began life as N8782R with Trans Caribbean. Also operated with IAS Cargo / British Cargo Airlines as G-BDHA. With Aeromar Airlines, Aerochago Airlines and Agro Air International as HI-426 (and other reg combinations later) before joining Fine Air. Merged into Arrow Air 2000. Retired 2001.

Leased from Fine Air. This frame has operated for multiple operators, sometimes back and forth. Suffice to mention it was originally delivered to Riddle Airlines as N108RD in Sep 63. Retired around the turn of the century.

Previously YV-447C Interamericana, HI-427 Agro Air, Aerochago and Aeromar. An dprevious to that, G-BDDE IAS Airlines and British Cargo Airlines. First operated as N8783R with Trans Caribbean Airways. Retired Mar 2000. Seen stored Miami in 2001.

I decided to post this having noted a subtle difference in comparison with the photo taken by Gerard Helmer in 1991. Larger titles and a longer tail to the letter F on the tail. Withdrawn from use by Dec 2002.

Went into storage Dec 99. Among other identities in previous times it was PH-DCW with KLM.

The very first DC-8 pictured with it's last operator. First flight on May 30 1958, Douglas continually upgraded the aircraft during testing. It was the first DC-8-50 series aircraft when re-engined with P & W JT-3C turbo-fan engines in 1960. Since it was built on production tooling, the airliner was able to be sold to Trans International Airlines in 1962. Chartered by Lufthansa and leased to Canadian Pacific Airlines before it was sold to Delta Airlines in 1967. Leased by AeroMexico 1979 - 82, the aircraft was finally parked in Marana, AZ. It was slowly stripped of parts and later broken up.
