This Beagle was delivered to the 25. bombardovací letecký pluk (25 blp) in 1960 but was only in service with the Czechoslovak AF for four years. It is now on dispaly at this very interesting museum. However, as you can see here, the museum has started a policy of covering all the glazing on their exhibits with aluminium sheeting. I understand they want to preserve the interiors but it is a bit of a shame.

This Beagle flew from 1954 until 1961 with the Soviet AF based in East Germany but after 1961 it was transferred to the NVA - LSK/LV and flew with Zieldarstellungsstaffel-21 (ZDS-21) at Cottbus - Drehwitz. In August 1968 the plane was SOC and used as a spares source before the remains appear to have been unceremoniously dumped in a nearby gravel pit. Thankfully, the remains were dug up in 2005 and the nose is now on display at this super museum.

This Beagle flew from 1954 until 1961 with the Soviet AF based in East Germany but after 1961 it was transferred to the NVA - LSK/LV and flew with Zieldarstellungsstaffel-21 (ZDS-21) at Cottbus - Drehwitz. In August 1968 the plane was SOC and used as a spares source before the remains appear to have been unceremoniously dumped in a nearby gravel pit. Thankfully, the remains were dug up in 2005 and the nose is now on display at this super museum.

The type first flew in April 1950 and this example is now on display at the super Polish AF museum.

This Beagle was delivered in 1953 to the 35th Bomber Regiment in Modlin. It was one of 10 Ił-28s modified in Poland to the 'E' version, enabling special reconnaissance and radio-electronic countermeasures It went on to serve with the 33rd Regiment of Operational Reconnaissance Aviation and then in the 7th Reconnaissance and Bombing Brigade. Ił-28E operations in Poland ended in 1979 and '47' is now on display at the Polish AF museum.

Some hour drive from Kabul, a real massive scrapyard of the Afghan Army was found. Only few sandy path' were cleared from land-mines, so I couldn't reach these two Il-28s and a nose section of an Antonov that once served the Afghan air force. This picture was made with some 300mm, to indicate the huge dimensions of the scrapyard.
