This Beagle flew from 1954 until 1961 with the Soviet AF based in East Germany but after 1961 it was transferred to the NVA - LSK/LV and flew with Zieldarstellungsstaffel-21 (ZDS-21) at Cottbus - Drehwitz. In August 1968 the plane was SOC and used as a spares source before the remains appear to have been unceremoniously dumped in a nearby gravel pit. Thankfully, the remains were dug up in 2005 and the nose is now on display at this super museum. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
