Delivered as F-BLCG to Air France in Jun'67. To ZAS Airline of Egypt-Zarkani Avn Services as SU-DAB in Mar'83, to Nile Safaris Avn as ST-AKR in Apr'86, to ZAS again as SU-DAB, to Naganagani Compagnie Nationale as XT-BBF in Mar'89, with Homac as HB-IEI Nov'89 (pictured), and withdrawn from use at Manston in '90. To Yana Air Cargo as 5Y-ANA but never delivered, to Avistar Airlines and Tramson as 5B-DAZ from Jul-Mar'93. To 4K-BEK with Azerbaijan Airlines in Jan'97, Again 5B-DAZ Avistar in '97, to Clipper 9G-ROX '99. Written off at Bratislava 2 Jul'99, overrunning runway during aborted take off.

The SAAF acquired three former Air France Boeing 707s in 1982 primarily for use as tankers by 60 Sqn based at Waterkloof. Two more were added in 1990 and 1992 and the role of early warning and electronic warfare was added to the units capability. Two of the aircraft were capable of carrying ELINT pods although at the time there was much secrecy surrounding that project and they were seldom seen in public. Latterly the 707s were used more for general transport and humanitarian purposes and the type was finally withdrawn in October 2007. 1419 is now displayed in the SAAF Museum at Swartkop.

NSA was leasing this 707 from Zarkani Aviation (ZAS) and on this occasion flew a subcharter for them. This aircraft registered as 9G-ROX overran the runway on take-off from Bratislava on 7 February 1999 and was written off.
