It was withdrawn from use in Nov'00 and stripped for stripped for spares at NAS Culdrose. Became an instructional airframe from late 2000 but strikingly was restored for service and assigned to 820sq in early 2002. From 2003 up to mid-'13, the King was stored with AESS at Gosport/HMS Sultan. Moved for storage at Bruntingthorpe in Nov'13, and the moved to storage at Eastleigh in 2014. Was sold to Moose Fun Farm / Holmside Park, Edmondsley in that year. Last reported in 2019.
