This very nice but strangely marked Beech 18 is ex French Air Force 447099, later 099. It arrived in the museum in 1986, presumably from Châteaudun where it had been stored since it was withdrawn from use in 1969. By 2008 it had been painted in these markings, which appear to be based on those carried by Beech D18S ZK-TEX "447506" c/n A-989 in 2004. It carries a small "Bug Smasher" nose art.

Owned by Charles Jurgens' Arctic Warbirds at the time, ex USAAF 43-35748. Seen here stored awaiting restoration at his home on Holland Aviation Street at the Bradley Sky Ranch. The Beech 18 hiding behind on the right is former Air North N702FY (c/n AF-326).
