The NA-64 design was an updated NA-57 ordered by France but diverted to the Royal Canadian Air Force when France fell before delivery. Taken on strength by the RCAF as 3464 (the last Yale serial) September 27, 1940, it was actually the first NA-64 built, kept by North American to develop maintenance manuals and pilot notes. Struck off strength September 25, 1946, the aircraft ended up at Ernie Simmon's farm in his outdoor collection. Registered in the USA as N13397 in 1976, it's pictured in French Air Force markings it might have carried had it reached Europe.

Struck off with 1627:40 airframe hours 25 September 1946. Originally registered to Ernie Simmons of Tillsonburg, Ontario. Donated to the museum in 2006. The museum was renamed the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada 19 December 2014 and closed its doors 22 October 2018. The historic TCA hangar and original terminal building were sadly demolished to make way for a new maintenance facility. The construction of a new museum building commenced 1 May 2020 at 2088 Wellington Avenue, which is near the main terminal building.

This NA-64 served with the RCAF as 3417 but is on display at the National Museum of the USAF in this nice diorama to represent an Army Air Corps Bt-14 involved in a training accident. Note the pilot pleading with the instructor that the fact the brakes were applied too hard... really wasn't his fault!

The NA-64 was a fixed gear relative of the T-6 Texan / Harvard. Of 230 machines ordered by France, 111 were delivered before the fall of France and 93 of these ended up in the Luftwaffe. The other 119 were diverted to Canada as Yale Mk.I intermediate trainers. This airframe retook to the air in 1980 as N55904 and was brought to the Netherlands in 1989. It was refurbished at Duxford in the early 2000s.

This tattered Yale was delivered to the RCAF August 23, 1940. Sold post-war to eccentric farmer Ernie Simmons who bought other Yales, Westland Lysanders and Fairey Swordfish. Left out in his field, he rarely sold anything and after his death in 1970, his collection was put up for auction. This Yale eventually went to the Canadian Warplane Heritage for restoration as C-GCWY. After restoration to flying condition, it was re-registered CF-CWZ and is still in the collection.
