At the time of this photograph fixed wing aircraft were allowed to land inside the Silverstone race circuit on what was one of the old WWII runways, and the Trislander had brought in passengers to attend the 1985 British F1 Grand Prix which was held there on the day. Ex - G-BNZD and 6Y-JQK, the aircraft was de-registered in March 2003 but its fuselage lingered on at least as late as September 2008, when it was photographed at Cumbernauld where old Islanders go to die.

The aircraft was re-registered G-OCME on 14th May 1986, but was written off in a forced landing on 9th February 1987 when the engines lost power due to fuel starvation whilst on approach to Liverpool Airport.
