The Ansett sticker on A65-114 was in connection the airline's sponsorship of a flight marking a 50th anniversary. What that event was is not known. In October 1986 the Dakota suffered a double engine failure on takeoff at RAAF Edinburgh and was damaged during the subsequent forced landing. Now on display at the South Australian Aviation Museum.

A65-102 was the largest entrant in the Benson and Hedges trans-Australian air race. The RAAF disposed off it in 1980. It was ferried around the country to different locations but it would be 1990 before it was formally registered, as N65388. In 1995 it became VH-SPY and then returned to its US identity in 1999. Severe corrosion was found during an inspection at Cairns in 2001, and it was permanently grounded.

The only Winjeel to be painted in the "Fanta Can" colour scheme used by the RAAF's Macchi MB-326s. It was named for its similarity to the colours of popular soft drink. A85-443 was later camouflaged for use as a forward air control role. It was sold in the civilian market as VH-XRA, then later VH-CZE. As -CZE flew once again in the Fanta can colours but more recently has been painted in the standard Winjeel dayglow and silver and marked as "A85-404".

Unit: 34 Sqn. The Rolls Royce and police escort departing behind A65-90 showed it was carrying a very important person, which was Canberra-based 34 Squadron's role. A kid in the middle of the apron with a camera was no cause for concern in the relaxed atmosphere of Australia in 1966. A month later the aircraft was retired from VIP duties and later transferred to the Navy as N2-90, eventually becoming VH-NVZ in its historic flight. It was scrapped in 2014.
